Braced Split

Also: Inverted braced split

A suspended split where muscle tension is directed into the elevating equipment to maintain the pose - a minor example of Tensegrity1).

The side split variant is less than a full split, or there would be no tension to hold the performer off the ground.

The front split variation requires an oversplit.

Either is most frequently done between two walls; the walls musht be slightly closer tham the heel-to-heel distance of the split to allow solid bracing. It is entered from a handstand, then after the bracing is achieved, hands are lifted form the floor.
