A progression the Human knot frontbend. Instead of crossing the ankles behind the neck, the calves cross further down the back. The arms are wrapped backwards around the the calves to keep them in place, as there is insufficient bracing to do so otherwise.
This pose is frequently assisted, either by a coach, or with a stretch strap to allow the performer to pull their legs into position from a more manageable angle.
It is possible for the feet to continue to be pushed further down the back, achieving sufficient bracing, but this requires a overextension of the knees that most people are incapable of, even with training.
